Dates: Fridays, January 9th, 23rd, 30th, and February 6th, 2026 Time: After school until 3:00 pm Location: Music Room Description: Get ready to take a closer look at rhythm! Playing Percussion instruments has never been so WILDLY fun or educational. This structured experience combines applied performance on percussion instruments (drums, xylophones, shakers, tambourine, triangle, pitched percussion/xylophones, and more!) with an emphasis on strengthening knowledge of music theory, literacy, math, and science. Working together to perform layered drumming pieces, students will play with patterns while also learning some popular techniques and skills, such as high and low tone drumming, rim shots, rolls, improvisation, and even composing! All activities are designed by Lisa to be accessible to all elementary-aged children, regardless of music background. Each week features a new percussion piece and related activity to keep the learning engaging and motivating.
